FRED topology and application
Home Products FRED ModuleFRED topology and application
FRED (Fast Recovery Epitaxial Diode) modules can be configured in several common topologies. The main types include common anode, where multiple diodes share a common anode terminal; common cathode, sharing a common cathode terminal; series, connecting diodes in line to handle higher voltages; and parallel, connecting diodes side-by-side to increase current capacity. Additionally, bridge configurations are used in rectifiers for converting AC to DC. These topologies are often combined or adapted based on specific circuit requirements. Overall, the primary topologies are designed to optimize voltage handling, current capacity, and switching performance.
